Moranbah South Village was designed to provide mine workers with accommodation in a ‘village’ format which included a communal dining area, commercial kitchen and bar, various recreational facilities and administration and office spaces.
The Mac Services Group commissioned Gowdie Management Group to project manage the design, documentation, tender and delivery of all civil infrastructure for the development in several stages.
This included construction of 3258 permanent units and 360 interim land use units, built as either one or two storey apartments.
Our project management role included determining the scope of preparatory works, completing a gap analysis of design areas, managing the design team, developing a project cost plan, preparing, managing and reviewing the works package tender, commercial management of the construction contract, project programming, onsite management and supervision of works, and liaising with key stakeholders, including Isaac Regional Council and BMA (BHP Mitsubishi Alliance) Australia.
Working within a tight time frame we developed an extensive program to ensure the project was handed over on time and within budget.
