Corrective Services NSW appointed Gowdie Management Group project director for its Prison Bed Capacity Programme. This programme is part of the NSW Government’s Better Prisons reform programme, which aims to address the shortfall in inmate bed capacity in the state’s prisons through the development and implementation of additional immediate, short and medium-term prison bed capacity.

As project director, our challenge is to create and deliver a new prison design in a quarter of the time it would take to deliver a conventional prison and replicate this over multiple sites. To date, the programme has achieved its milestones due to our strong leadership, stakeholder management, expert advice and innovative methodology and delivery strategies.
