The QUT Gardens Point ferry terminal upgrade was a joint venture between the university and Brisbane City Council (BCC), providing a new riverside entry point to Brisbane’s CBD.

Gowdie Management Group was appointed to provide project management and superintendent services of university infrastructure associated with the terminal during construction.

Our brief was to provide a new lift and associated walkways between QUT’s S and Z Blocks in parallel with the BCC’s construction of the new terminal and walkway under the Riverside Expressway.

We acted as QUT’s representative in negotiations with BCC, helping to coordinate council works on university grounds.

Our team played a crucial role during construction, successfully keeping noise and other impacts upon surrounding teaching spaces to a minimum and maintaining good traffic management and pedestrian safety.

Our attention to programming and our extensive site experience ensured a successful outcome for all stakeholders, delivering a safe, functional and memorable arrival point to its main campus.
