QUT Facilities Management appointed Gowdie Management Group to provide project management and superintendent services from concept phase through to construction and close-out of Level 2 of its cell and molecular bio-sciences and medical sciences departments in December 2013.

Our team was involved in stakeholder consultations during the concept phase to ensure our client’s brief was the main focus of design and planning outcomes.  The initial brief was to refurbish four traditional teaching lecture theatres consisting of fixed tiered lecture seating into contemporary, flexible and collaborative learning spaces. As this extensive refurbishment progressed the scope increased to encompass the building’s entire second level.

Our attention to design detail and construction management and understanding of the clients’ brief, led to the creation of a breakout space for students to interact outside formal teaching sessions.

Our project management throughout all design and construction allowed the client’s brief to expand seamlessly to encompass the entire floor, creating an integrated contemporary learning space with practical and visually appealing connectivity between teaching rooms and the student breakout space.
